    • State and federal labor laws protect teenagers who work by making it illegal for employers to hire them to work in dangerous jobs.  Minors are prohibited from certain occupations, industries and tasks.
    • For example, 14-15-year-old minors may not work in or around manufacturing facilities or factories, mechanical establishments where machinery is used, on construction sites, in garages or tunnels.  And 16-17-year-old minors may not work in or around blast furnaces or anywhere explosives are manufactured.
