    • 14- and 15-year-olds can work between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. during the school year, not during school hours, and only between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. during the summer (from July 1 through Labor Day).  During the school year, they can work no more than 18 hours per week (no more than 3 hours a day on school days and 8 hours a day on weekends and holidays, and no more than 6 days a week).  When school isn’t in session, they can work no more than 40 hours a week (no more than 8 hours a day, and no more than 6 days a week).
    • 16- and 17-year-olds can work between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. on school nights (or 10:15 p.m. if the place of work stops serving clients or customers at 10:00 p.m.), and only between 6:00 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. on non-school nights.  16- and 17-year-olds working at restaurants and racetracks can work between 6:00 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. on non-school nights.  They can work no more than 48 hours a week (no more than 9 hours a day, and no more than 6 days a week).
